Andhra-style gunpowder recipe
In today’s blog, I’m going to share one of the most loved recipes of Andhra cuisine, which is none other than Andhra-style gunpowder. Whenever you visit any Andhra restaurant, you can never leave without having this tasty and healthy gunpowder steaming hot rice, and some ghee. The first time when I visited a famous Andhra restaurant in Bangalore I got to taste this tasty gunpowder along with some hot rice, and guess what, I just enjoyed every bite of it. I came home and I tried the recipe and everyone in the family just loved it. This can be savored with hot idlis to make podi idli. Once you try it you will never forget to taste your Idly with this gunpowder. It is very easy to make, and it takes very little time to prepare it now without any delay, let’s jump into the recipe

Ingredients
1/4 cup of Tur dal
1/8 cup of Chana dal
5-6 dry red chilies
3/4 tbsp of cumin seeds
One pinch of hing
1/2 tbsp of salt
Instructions with images
In a pan, add 1/4 cup of Tur dal

Dry roasted on low flame for five minutes.Till it turns golden brown

Now transfer the roasted tur dal into a plate and let it cool completely
In the same pan, add 1/8 cup of Chana dal and roast it well

Once it turns golden brown let it cool

Add 5-6 dry red chilies to the pan and Dry roast it well

Add 3/4 tbsp of cumin seeds and roast it well

Transfer everything to a plate and let it cool

Once everything is cooled, add them to a jar

Add one pinch of hing

Add 1/2 tbsp of salt (as per a taste)

Blend everything into a fine powder

Now you are tasty, Andhra-style gun powder is ready
