Tomato chutney recipe
In today’s blog, I am going to share the recipe for Tomato chutney, During our last trip to Ooty, we got lucky to savor the authentic Tamil Nadu tomato chutney along with soft idlis. It was mouth-smacking! We really loved the tomato chutney. I asked the woman who was serving us breakfast for a tomato chutney recipe. Guess what? She was kind enough to share the detailed recipe of tomato chutney. When we returned home, I tried the exact recipe shared by the sweet lady from Ooty and it was extremely tasty. So, I decided to share the recipe for tomato chutney with you all. Now, without any delay let’s jump into the recipe.

Ingredients
2 tbsp Oil
5-6 Garlic cloves
2 dry red chilies
1 medium onion
5-6 Curry leaves
3 tomatoes
½ tbsp salt
1/4th tbsp Turmeric powder
½ tbsp Mustard seeds
½ tbsp Cumin seeds
1 pinch of Hing
2 dry red chilies
5 -6 garlic cloves
Instructions with Images
In a pan, add 2 tbsp Oil and heat it
Add 5-6 Garlic cloves
Add 2 dry red chilies and fry them well
Now, add 1 medium onion cut into slices and saute well
Add 5-6 Curry leaves and saute well
Now, add 3 tomatoes cut into slices
Add ½ tbsp salt, according to taste
Add 1/4th tbsp Turmeric powder
Mix everything well and cook on low flame for 5 minutes
Close the lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes
Once, it is completely cooked, turn off the gas and let it cool
Now, add everything to the jar and Grind it into a smooth paste
In a pan, add 2 tbsp oil
Add ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
Add ½ tbsp Cumin seeds and let them splatter
After that, add 1 pinch of Hing
Now, add 2 dry red chilies
And add 5 -6 garlic cloves cut into pieces and saute well
Now, add tomato paste to the tempering base
Mix everything well and Cook for 10 minutes on low flame
Once the oil starts to separate from it turn off the gas
Now, our tasty tomato chutney is ready to savor.
