How to make Homemade ghee

Indian cuisine is incomplete without Ghee. Ghee is consumed in various methods. We use ghee while cooking as well as we use it as a side dipping or spread it over our parathas and kinds of rice.

I just love to add ghee to hot rotis and rice and enjoy it with some dry chutneys!

It is said that consuming 1 tbsp of ghee per day helps in improving overall health. 

 

We often used to buy ghee from stores. But, since two years,  I am prepare ghee at home. Preparing ghee at home is very healthy as well as tasty. The aroma of homemade ghee is just amazing. Come let us learn how to prepare ghee at home.

How to make Homemade ghee

Home made ghee recipe

Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 450 gram Butter
  • 2 cardamom

Instructions
 

  • Take a saucepan
  • Add 450 grams of Fresh butter
  • Turn on the stove and heat the butter on medium flame
  • Stir the butter till it completely meltdown
  • Once the butter is completely melted stop stirring
  • Heat it on medium flame.
  • Froth starts to appear and it disappears on its own
  • Once the big bubbles start to appear heat it for few more minutes and
  • Add 2 cardamom to give the flavor
  • Once the bubbles stop, then turn off the stove.
  • Let it cool for some time
  • Using a strainer collect the ghee into a glass container or an air-tight container.
  • Now the fresh homemade ghee is ready.
