Jowar is one of the most loved grain in North Karnataka…Jowar is very good for health…Farmers of North Karnataka love to enjoy Jowar roti for all three meals of the day…There are so many recipes for Jowar. I have already shared the recipe for Jolada Mudde…Menthe Kadubu is one such unique and yummy recipe. Here the steamed balls of Jowar are mixed with the base created using Methi leaves…It is one of my most favorite recipes…So, In today’s blog, I am going to share the recipe for Menthe Kadubu…

Menthe Kadubu
Equipment
- Idli cooker and plates
Ingredients
- 1 cup Jowar flour.
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp Ghee or Oil
- ½ cup fresh Menthe leaves
- 1 tbsp Green chili paste
- 1-2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Water
Instructions
- Take a saucepan and add 1 cup of Water.
- Add 1 tbsp salt
- Bring it to boil
- When water starts to boil, add 1 tbsp oil
- Now, gradually add 1 cup of Jowar flour little by little
- Simultaneously mix the flour with hot water using a wooden spoon or a fork.
- Continue to stir until the Jowar becomes thick
- Now turn off the gas and let it cool
- Transfer the jowar mudde to a plate
- Apply 1 tbsp Ghee or Oil to your palm and start making small sized balls
- Prepare all ball-sized Jowar ladu and press them
- Take an idli plate and grease it with some oil
- Place all the Balls on the plate
- Steam the for about 4-5 minutes
- In a pan add 1-2 tbsp Oil and heat it
- Now add ½ cup fresh Menthe leaves
- Add 1 tbsp Green chili paste
- Saute well until the leaves become soft
- Now, add steamed balls of jowar into the masala
- Mix everything well
- Now the yummy Menthe Kadubu is ready

Step 1

Continue to stir until the Jowar becomes thick
Turn off the gas and let it cool. Transfer the jowar mudde to a plate
Apply 1 tbsp Ghee or Oil to your palm
Start making small sized balls
Prepare all ball-sized Jowar ladu and press them
Take an idli plate and grease it with some oil and place all the Balls on the plate

Now add ½ cup fresh Menthe leaves
Add 1 tbsp Green chili paste
Saute well until the leaves become soft
Now, add steamed balls of jowar into the masala
Mix everything well
Now the yummy Menthe Kadubu is ready
