Madike Kalu saaru
In today’s blog, I will share the recipe for Madike kalu sambar. Matki Moth beans or Madike Kalu are high in protein and nutritious. My mom used to make this sambar very often because of its health benefits. Having sprouted matki will have added benefits. Ingredients
1 & 1/2 cups of sprouted matki or Madike kalu
1 glass of water
1/2 tbsp Salt
1 medium tomatoes chopped into pieces
2 tbsp Coconut chips
2 Cloves and 1/2 inch cinnamon
1 cup chopped Onion
2 tbsp Oil
5-6 curry leaves
1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste)
1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
2 tbsp Red chilli powder
Add 1 & 1/2 glass of water
Instructions with Images
In a pressure cooker add 1 & 1/2 cups of sprouted matki or Madike kalu

Add 1 glass of water

Add 1/2 tbsp Salt and Pressure cook for 2 whistles

In a jar, add 1 medium tomatoes chopped into pieces

Add 2 tbsp Coconut chips, 2 Cloves, and 1/2 inch cinnamon

Add a little water and grind it into a smooth paste

In a pan add 2 tbsp Oil

Add 1 cup chopped Onion and saute

Add 5-6 curry leaves and saute

Next, add Grounded Masala

Mix and cook it well

Add 1/2 tbsp Salt (as per taste) and Mix everything well

Add 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder

And add 2 tbsp Red chilli powder

Mix and cook it well

Close the lid and cook it for 5 minutes on low flame

Open the lid When it reduces to half of its quantity

Add the pressure-cooked matki or madike kalu

Mix everything well

Now, add 1 & 1/2 glass of water

Mix everything well

Close the lid and cook it for 10 min on low flame

Once the quantity is reduced to half , Turn off the gas

Now, your tasty Madaki kalu sambar is ready.
