Andra Pappu Recipe
In today’s blog, I am going to share the recipe of Andra Pappu recipe. Pappu is nothing but Dal prepared using different flavors of herbs and green leafy veggies. In India, we have this culture of sharing food with our neighbors and friends. The first time I tasted the Pappu was when my neighbor from Andhra Pradesh brought us a bowl full of pappu and some fries during a festival… And I I just loved it. To that day, I had never tasted such a unique and very tasty Dal in my life. I just fell in love with it soon after having the first bite. I still remember the feeling of enjoying the pappu with hot steamed rice with a spoon of ghee.
The very next day I went to my neighbor’s home and learned the Pappu recipe and tried it at my home. Guess what? It was the yummiest dal I had ever prepared to date. God! I can’t control the urge of sharing such a delicious Pappu recipe with you guys. Lets jump into the Andra Pappu recipe.

Ingredients
1 cup of washed Tur Dal
1 bunch of chopped Palak
5-6 Garlic cloves
1 cup of Tomato cut into dice
1 tbsp of cumin seeds
1/4 th tbsp Turmeric powder
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp mustard seeds
4 tbsp OIL
5-6 curry leaves
4-5 slit green chilies
1/2 cup of tamarind water
1 tbsp jaggery
2 tbsp of Coriander leaves
Instructions with images
In a pressure cooker add 1 cup of washed Tur Dal
Add 1/2 tbsp salt
Add 1 tbsp OIL
