Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Medium Poha
  • 1 cup roasted grams
  • 2 cup Rice flour
  • 4 cup water
  • The ratio of All the above ingredients should be 1:2 or 2:4
  • 1 tbsp Carom seeds
  • 2 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 250 ml oil (For Frying)

Instructions
 

  • Take 2 cups medium Poha and into a mixing jar and grind it into a fine powder.
  • Grind 1 cup of Roasted gram into a fine powder
  • Take a vessel and 4 cups of water to it and turn on the gas.
  • Now, crush 1 tbsp carom seeds in hand and add them to the water
  • Add 2 tbsp red chili powder and 1 tbsp salt to the water
  • Mix everything well.
  • Now add powdered poha into the hot water and mix continuously till it becomes thick.
  • Then add, 2 cups rice flour and mix continuously and turn off the gas.
  • Once everything is mixed well, add the powder of roasted gram to the mixture and mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture of chakli into a wide plate or a big mixing bowl.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil and add it to the mixture.
  • Allow the mixture to get down to a warm temperature. And then start mixing it.
  • Start kneading the dough for Chakkli using hands. Refer video for better understanding.
  • Prepare 4 parts of dough for chakli as shown in the picture
  • Now start kneading individual parts as shown in the video to bring it to perfect texture.
  • Take a Chakli maker and place a start mold.
  • Grease oil inside the chakli maker. So that, the chakli dough doesn’t stick to the inside wall.
  • Take one ball size dough and add it into the chakli maker and press it and close the lid.
  • Start making chakli as shown in the images on a plate or any clean paper. You can also directly make chakli into the oil. (Refer to the video for a better understanding of the method)
  • Heat oil on the medium flame and add chakli into the oil and start frying.
  • Let them fry on one side for 2 minutes.
  • Once one side of the chakli is fried well flip it over.
  • The bubbles start to disappear and the chakli turns into golden brown color. This indicates that both sides are cooked well. Then, take them out onto a tissue paper
  • See how crispy the chakli are.
  • Now the crispy chakli is ready to enjoy.
